Witches and Warlocks and Lies, Oh My!

I can't believe what this town has become! People going around soiling everyone's good name! Especially my own! Accusing me of being a witch! We never conjured spirits, we only danced and that crazy Barbados lady Tituba made us drink blood and sing! I had no part in any witchcraft! As long as Betty, Mercy, and Marry Warren keep their mouths shut we'll be fine, nothing but a whipping will come out of this. But I have to keep an eye out for that Mary Warren with her idea of "...we've got to tell. Witchery's a hangin' error, a hangin' like they done in Boston two year ago! We must tell the truth, Abby!" (Miller 19). And Betty, the faker, knocked out unconscious only when its convenient for her and no one else! Hasn't anyone have some sense in this town?

Oh but John Proctor, I felt as though I haven't seen him in forever! That Devil wife of his has kept us apart for too long. I know he loves me, he said it himself when I asked him "...tell me you've never looked up at my window?" (Miller 23). I know we'll be together as soon as this whole mess blows over, and that crone of a wife of his out of the way! But did he have to call me a child? Did my John have to insult me so? Gosh silly me, all the pressure everyone is under lately with this talk of witchcraft must be getting to his head, I can't take any of it personally.

Not to mention Reverend Hale and Reverend Parris interrogating me like I had fault in this mess!  "What sort of soup was in the kettle, Abigail?" (Miller 42). What should it matter, I never called upon no spirits or no Devil! I have to admit though, I was frightened...but it was all Tituba! Speaking Barbados and other nonsense! Oh I wish Betty would just wake up, help me out of this corner Reverend Hale has me in. But thankfully the Reverend started on Tituba and she ratted out Sarah Good and Goody Osburn. That's when the list of names started to compile. I only pray the light of God will shine upon the people and their wrong doings!
